In this session, Dr. Acierno will provide a comprehensive overview of diagnosing and treating urinary incontinence in dogs. His discussion will include common causes of incontinence, including urethral sphincter incompetence and ectopic ureters, which account for 85% of cases.

This talk will cover the urinary cycle, the neuroanatomy involved in micturition, important questions to ask when obtaining a history, and components of a physical examination. Advanced diagnostic techniques and treatment options, both medical and surgical, will be discussed, ensuring veterinarians are equipped to manage even the most challenging cases.
