Is there a link between TPLO surgery and the subsequent development of cancer in dogs?
Answer by James L. Cook, DVM, PhD, DACVS, DACVSMR:
No - fractures, bone healing, and inflammation and some implants can be associated with bone cancer, but it is extremely rare and it is not truly a “direct” link.
