Hydra Care - Cats With Chronic Kidney Disease

Nutrition

Dr. Donna Raditic, DVM, DACVN, CVA responded:

It is rather new so we do not have enough patients currently using it to give you a clinical perspective on the product. I find it a bit of a sad statement that the best we can do to better manage a cat’s fluid balance when they are healthy or with FLUTD, CKD, etc.  – is to then doctor their water to “encourage” water intake. I can tell you for HEALTHY cats … when they are on the MLD (i.e. high protein, low carbohydrate diet) with small frequent meals - i.e. 10 meals/day – this may help to improve fluid balance and urine output and pH.
